为向华人社区倡导积极投票和关心时政的理念，莱克星顿的华人组织莱镇华盟(CALex)于2月2日在莱镇社区中心举办了本镇重要职位的候选人和民众的见面会。莱镇华盟邀请的六位候选人全部到场进行了自我介绍，阐述了竞选理由，并回答了民众关心的问题。该组织呼吁民众通过积极投票来表达华裔民众对社区的关心和镇里事物的重视。
本次选举属于地方选举，投票时间是3月4日星期一。莱克星敦的每个重要委员会在每年的地方选举中都会有部分委员进行改选，这些委员会对本镇未来的发展方向起着举足轻重的作用。本次竞选连任的Suzie Barry(现任主席)和Joe Pato将参选镇委会(Board of Selectmen)的两个三年期职位。与此同时，镇委会一年期职位两个候选人竞选一个职位。另外对本镇规划设计起关键作用的镇规划委员会同样是两个候选人竞选一个职位。这六位候选人在会上回答了许多民众关心的问题：比如怎样管理支出、税收等关键财政环节以保证莱镇的可持续健康发展；候选人支持还是反对在镇内设立大麻销售店及支持或反对的原因；候选人对学校拥挤的看法和建议、对发展密集住宅的看法和主张。这些问题都与镇里居民的生活息息相关，候选人的解答对民众如何有效投票起了非常大的帮助。
该会通过邀请参选的候选人到场，让民众有机会直接面对候选人并深入了解其参选理念，以帮助民众更有信心地决定怎样在即将到来的选举中投出宝贵的一票。这是莱镇华盟在推进本镇华人参政议政方面做出的又一成功努力。
另外，对还未注册选民的美国公民，如果要参加3月4日的地方投票，必须在2月12号星期二晚上8点前完成选民注册。注册方式包括网上注册（https://www.sec.state.ma.us/OVR/），亲自到镇里登记（Town Clerk’s Office），或发邮件。对于3月4日不能参加投票的选民，提交absentee ballot申请的最后时间是3月1日。
