Information on 12/04/2017 Debt Exclusion Vote
Hi everyone,
On 12/04 Town of Lexington will hold a special election. https://www.lexingtonma.gov/sites/lexingtonma/files/uploads/specimen_ballot.pdf
Voters will be asked to decide whether to raise additional property tax (exempt/excluded from proposition 2 ½) to fund the following 3 projects individually.
1: The new Hastings elementary school
2: The new Lexington Children’s Place (for special need preschoolers)
3: The new Headquarters Fire Station and reconstruction of the temporary Fire Station
Helen Yang, a member of town appropriation committee, has given a seminar on 11/6, which provides background information on debt exclusion. This neutral and informational seminar has received positive feedbacks from audience and some town management members. If you missed it you can

The following website provides a lot of data and analysis of the 3 projects as well as the financial status of Lexington. Given future projects such as LHS, the 7th elementary school and the police department etc. it is critical for Lexington to have long term planning and maintain the financial health.
