On January 26, 2025, the CALex Lunar New Year Gala lit up Lexington High School with an unforgettable evening of culture, community, and celebration. Sponsored by Phoenix Real Estate & Construction, the event brought together more than 1,000 attendees for a night filled with music, dance, theater, and traditional performances that beautifully showcased the richness of Chinese culture.

The program featured the Lexington High School Jazz Band, classical and folk dances, traditional Chinese opera, martial arts, choir performances, and modern fusion pieces. Highlights included the youth drama of the Journey of the Monkey King, classical and ethnic dances, a rendition of The Yangtze River Flows East by 80-year-old singer Zeng Fanrui, and a kung fu showcase by the New England Wushu Academy. The evening closed with a grand finale that combined Eastern and Western music in a way that left the audience energized and inspired.

In addition to the stage, many festivities contributed to the New Year atmosphere, including red lanterns, calligraphy, tea tastings, food, raffles, and family activities. Community volunteers made the night possible, and dozens of students were recognized with the President’s Volunteer Service Award in appreciation of their service hours. Local and regional media described the gala as one of the best-organized and most successful Lunar New Year galas in years.

More than a performance, the CALex 2025 Spring Festival Gala connected generations to culture and brought the community together in welcoming the New Year with joy, pride, and hope.
